A deeper reflection on Jesus

Light on a difficult matter

I wrote the document Is it possible to know who Jesus really was? And my answer there was: "Probably no." I tried to be objective in that document, presenting both sides of Jesus' being: either as a divine person or just as a human being. I feel that we probably won't be able to know who Jesus really was, and I am still waiting for an answer.

My will would be to exalt and praise Jesus, and to believe that he was a divine person; but I do not see that clearly, yet. I think that there are compelling evidence and reasonable arguments to think that he was just a human being, like a prophet sent by God. Please note that I am not talking here about the glorified Jesus after his resurrection; this would be another topic.

Believe the churches

I can hear the voices of people telling me: Believe the teachings of the churches. I can't. Many teachings of the churches are based on myths, which in their turn are also based on other myths, not on the truth. I know why I am saying this, and this is for me a fact, not a guess. (I might write a document on this subject later. I did it! You may see it, here.) And besides this, the definitions from the Nicene (325) and Chalcedony (451) Councils in particular are inadequate, obsolete and meaningless today.

More in the book.
