The glorified Jesus - 3. A
conflict with God?
A
religion without Jesus
Christianity is a very complex religion; its
creed, its dogmas, its rituals are very complicated. Perhaps it is the most
complicated religion on earth. Nothing is simple; each one of these areas needs
an expert to understand it and to explain. That is why to be a theologian is a
profession, because you need professionals for interpreting Christianity, as it
is today; not as God, and Jesus wanted it. We have made of Christianity a real
labyrinth of dogmas and morals. What a pity!
One needs years and years in a seminary or
school just to learn how to be a Christian and how to interpret Christian
doctrine. Those who do not have this "privilege," take the risk of
believing and practicing their own interpretation of Christianity; and that
interpretation might not be a true Christianity. I am afraid most Christians
are in this category.
What makes Christianity so
complicated?
The problem arises mainly from different
interpretations of the Bible, which created different creeds, definitions and
statements of faith. We can not deal here with all these differences, but we
are going to question one thing, whether the adding of Jesus to the picture of
the Old Testament created a problem for the old religion of Moses and the
prophets.
We, Christians, also worship Yahweh, the
true God, as Jewish people do; but we Christians have also Jesus, (not to
mention here the Holy Spirit). Is this a problem for the practice of religion?
