Dear readers:

I have an important announcement to make: I have revised my Christian beliefs from the roots. I am still a Christian, because I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and a follower of his teachings, and that is what being a Christian means.

I wrote Step by Step with the Bible between 1990 and 1994. When I retired in January 1994 I started a new life of intense prayer and study; prayers for the understanding and knowledge of God and Jesus, and serious learning of the biblical advances and of modern science. I must confess that before my retirement I was so busy with my ministry, that I didn't have time for studying; I was then behind in the present knowledge of both: the Bible and the natural sciences. I think that I am now almost up to date, but this has demanded a radical revision of my beliefs. I have accepted the pain of this challenge for the quest of the truth, as I expressed in a document titled The pain of changing the image of Jesus. (You might see it here..)

I have to be honest with the readers of "The Steps;" I must tell them that I now believe that "The Steps," although written in good faith, lack a proven current knowledge of science, and contain misconceptions about history and current biblical exegesis. In a new Page in the internet called Christianity reformed from its roots, I tried to present what I believe now about Jesus, the Bible, the resurrection, the original sin, redemption and eternal life. "The Steps" were written following the teachings of traditional Christianity; the new Page, on the other hand, follows the teachings of Jesus and of his early disciples, and presents Jesus the way his contemporaries would have seen and interpreted him, had they known what we know today. This would be a reformed Christianity.

You may not agree with me, but I have to tell you what I believe now. I think there is more than one way —the traditional one— to be a Christian or disciple of Jesus. His first disciples didn't believe what traditional Christianity affirms today; the discipleship of Jesus was interpreted and lived differently. I tried to explain this in a document titled What being a Christian means in simple terms. (You might see this document, here.)

My understanding of God is clearer today, I think, than it was during my whole life. I have understood many things about him, but there is one which I consider very important. God is not a segregationist God; God does not discriminate among human beings, neither any honest religion. This character of God, among others, is expressed in My Prayers that I use daily, and in several of my documents. You might see an explanation of this subject on Part 3 of Globalization of Religion, here.

My Prayers are a very important component of this endeavor; you shouldn't miss them; unfortunately, they are not updated. The same should be said of most of my early documents. My present mind is reflected better in my Page's Directory "Most recently released documents," starting with the series The Schema of interpretations about God, the world, mankind and religion; you may see it, here;  and still a newer one, Schema about Nature, Attributes and Communication with God, that you may view  here. Please look at the Directory of the Page to find any document or prayer.
